CLA Insurance is the insurance program presented by the Coin Laundry Association, described on its own site as member-owned and as the largest laundry insurance program in the country, in operation for around 25 years and placed with an A-rated carrier.
The argument for a category program over a generic small-business policy is that laundromat losses are specific. Water damage from a supply hose or a drain backup, boiler and machine breakdown, customer slip-and-fall on a wet floor, and business interruption while a store is down are the claims that actually happen, and a policy written by someone who has paid those claims tends to be shaped around them. A generic BOP can leave equipment breakdown and sewer backup out entirely.
